Obama pledges to halve the budget deficit in 4 years

• Obama just pushed out a $787 billion stimulus package
• US is in $1.3 trillion in deficit
• $250 billion in interest, 3 times more than education spending

There is a population of 305 million in the US, which means $2,500/person is needed to fund this stimulus package. And that's NOT accounting for the deficit! Half of $1.3 trillion is $650 billion, which is another behemoth that we will have to cover. As far as I know, the government is funded by taxes from their citizens, therefore that money is coming from us, the citizens :(. Please keep in mind that not all 305 million people are making money, paying bills, and paying taxes. There are children and retired included in the census.

We the people in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice and a international tranquility--by means of violence toward the insignificant.

Let's keep an open mind and re-think the way we fund government activities

I'm no government strategist, although sometimes I think I should be, but I feel $1 trillion in a war with Afghanistan is a poor use of our money. Especially when there is a general consensus around the US that we need to fix problems we have at home (i.e. economy, health care, education, etc...) before trying to resolve problems abroad. Currently, US Drones have attacked villages on the borders of Afghanistan. Not targeting anything more specific than the village itself, it seems as though the US is the one creating the war. Many civilians, including women and children have died, thus creating more hatred towards the US in that region. I'm not the type to hit it and quit it, but Obama, call this a bitch a lost cause and GTFO.

Hey, after we fix all our problems domestically, we can always rebuild our empire and expand our reach of power... c'mon politicians. Do the right thing!
